Our Missions
Bethel is a very missional church, having a desire to see the Gospel taken to our community and to all parts of the world. Our involvement with the Southern Baptist Convention allows us to participate in the Cooperative Program, which funds many different missional endeavors. Outside of the Cooperative Program, Bethel supports these specific ministries:
TAMIL BAPTIST MIN.,—Light of Life
This is a group of churches in India that are building an Old age home for the destitute, homeless adults. Their vision is to rescue more as God leads them. We support them financially and send mission teams to work with them. For information call: Paul Viswasam 410-465-6590.
GOOD SAMARITAN NETWORK/BFCS
GSM builds stronger families by reaching out to those in crisis, providing material assistance, information and referral, wrap-around services and case management. We support them financially. For information call: Cindy Yost 410-872-1050.
METANOIA CHURCH, ELLICOTT CITY, MD
In August 2008, Metanoia will begin their 4th year of Ministry to the people who live in Ellicott City. They minister to people who live in the Main Street area. There are other ways than just financially that Bethel can support Metanoia. For information call Paul Viswasam at 410-465-5690.
ALPHA PREGNANCY CARE CENTER
They have the opportunity to share God’s truth with women facing a great decision. They offer compassion and hope for the future. Each year in April, the Prime timers give the center a baby shower where they receive gifts for the women. For more information call: Mary Nettleship 410-242-0490.
MISSION TRIPS
Each year Bethel sends out a Mission team of 10-20 adults and youth to a location to do VBS, Construction Work, Pray walking, and any other needed work. For more information call Wanda Horstmann 410-465-3931.
THRIFT SHOP
(Christian Services of Howard County)
Open Tuesdays & Thursdays and the 2nd & 4th Saturdays each month. We support this work financially as well as providing volunteers on a regular basis. For information call June Philipp 410-997-7867.
CHRISTIAN JAIL MINISTRY
Howard County Detention Center CJM provides chaplaincy services plus spiritual and Personal ministry for inmates and staff since 1979. CJM’s programs are directed by professional chaplains and we support them financially and providing space in the building for some work to be done by their volunteers. CHILDREN’S BIBLE MINISTRY OF MD.
CBM gives hope to children in Maryland.
They work with summer missionaries who step out in faith to serve God through Summer Bible camps. We support them financially. For more information call Carolyn King 410-796-7990.
